COVID - 19 Protocols
We are pleased that you have chosen to visit Aldersyde. Whilst staying with us we hope that you enjoy a relaxed and happy visit. In order to make our home a safe as we possibly can and as per Government Guidelines we have carried out a risk assessment in respect of Covid -19. This has identified some changes that we have had to make to comply.
We aim to greet you in our usual friendly manner and to show you to the room you have selected. We are a small establishment with three guest rooms catering for a maximum of six guests, so it is relatively rare for you meet other guests whilst moving through the property.
Current Government guidelines require our guests to wear face coverings at all times in the communal areas of our house but not whilst having breakfast.
On booking you were asked to provide an arrival time, we would ask that you keep to this to the best of your ability. Hopefully this will go someway to avoiding all our guests arriving at the same time. If when you arrive we are showing one set of guest to their room, you might be asked to wait just outside ( weather permitting) or just in the porch area until we can give you our whole attention.
Hand sanitiser is available in the porch and we ask that you use it before entering the property.
Likewise it is also available in the breakfast room and we again ask that you use it on entering.
To minimise chances of contamination once your room is prepared for your arrival you will be the only people to enter and exit. Regrettably this will prevent us from servicing your room on multiple night stays. We continue to supply our usual complimentary items, if you need these replenishing during your stay let us know at breakfast.
In order to maximise ventilation the windows in your room will be left open after we have prepared it. We ask that when you check out you also leave them open please.
In preparing your room all hard surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned with hot soapy water followed by disinfectant. Unfortunately we have had to remove some of the soft furnishings to comply with hygiene guidelines. Those that remain will be treated with a sanitiser.
There is also a anti viral spray and cloth in your bathroom should you wish to use them.
All high touch surface in communal areas will be cleaned regularly.
In order to maintain social distancing recommendations in our dining room, only two of our three tables can be occupied at any one time.
There will be two sittings for breakfast of 8 am and 8.45 am. You will be asked to select one of these times, subject to availability, along with making your breakfast choices on individual single use menus. The menus can be found in your rooms and once you have had an opportunity to read and make your selection, just leave them on the hall sideboard by the visitors book the night before.
We are no longer able to offer a self service option for fruits and cereal etc. These items are still available and can be selected at table service in the morning.
If you are feeling unwell before arriving with us, we respectfully request that you DO NOT TRAVEL, let us know and cancel your booking. We will still be here when you feel better.
Similarly, if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 whilst here, we ask that you let us know, leave immediately and follow the self isolation regulations at your usual address.
We are making every effort to protect ourselves, other guests, our business and the local community. Therefore, we ask that if you live in an area that has a local lockdown imposed with travel restrictions, that you contact booking.com to either cancel or hopefully rearrange your visit for another time.
We realise these are unusual times for us all and thank you for assisting us with the above, to comply with the current Government advice in managing the potential risk posed by this virus.
